I am excited to
apart of the TVCC family. To tell you a little about
myself ......
I have taught as
an adjunct faculty member for TVCC since 2001. I have also
taught high school mathematics at Sunnyvale High School,
Fruitvale High School and Martin's Mill High School. I have
taught everything from 6th grade math up to college level
Calculus II. As a high school teacher, I also coached
basketball, golf and volleyball as well as being the student
council and NHS advisors.
I received my
Master's of Science in mathematics and education from Texas A&M
Commerce and my Bachelor's of Science in mathematics from
University of Texas at Tyler.
My husband,
Tyson, is a full-time math instructor on the Athens campus of
TVCC. He and I live in Canton and have 2 pugs.
I love to
teach - I specifically love to teach math. It is my
philosophy that everyone can learn math - we, together, have to
figure out how you as a student best learn math. I
incorporate group work and projects into my developmental math
courses as well as strategies that help the student explore
learning strategies as well as study skills to help them be
successful as a student.
Outside of
teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends,
playing golf and reading.
I look
forward to guiding you in your educational journey. Please feel
free to stop by my office at anytime.
