Hello...... and welcome to my homepage here at Trinity Valley
Community College.
It has been a while since I have updated this page, so I
thought that I would try something completely new and a little different. I started by
wanting to create a composite image of the writers and works that have influenced me.....
until I realized what an enormous task that is! So, instead, I picked just a
handful of images. The two gentlemen in the picture are two of my favorite writers, Edgar Allan Poe and Howard P. Lovecraft, both of whom were Americans and
both of whom are generally identified with horror fiction. Behind each of these fellows
are images that were inspired by their works. In the top center of the picture is an image
from Dante's Paradiso and right below it
is a picture entitled "The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters". These two latter
images are by two of my favorite artists, Gustav Dore and Francisco
Goya, respectively. Obviously, these pictures were chosen to work thematically
together, and I may from time to time decide to change the theme of that header. (You can
get more information about any of these folks by following the links in the previous
text.)
Whew! Well, that was certainly a
little more explanation that I had intended to do. I hope you enjoyed reading that as much
as I enjoyed writing it. Actually, I hope that you enjoyed that more than I enjoyed
writing it. :^)
