How to set up your WebCT Page

If you have registered in Developmental Reading or Writing -
Internet, you have now been entered into the system (except
for late registrants) and have access to WebCT. Your User
ID is your last name, first initial and last four digits
of your Social Security number. Your Password is the last
four digits of your Social Security number. The following
is an example of what student Jane Doe SS # 123-45-6789
would enter on the log-in page:
User ID: doej6789 (notice--no spaces or
capitals)
Password: 6789
Do not hit the space bar
at any time while entering your ID and Password.
Do not attempt to change
the 4 numbers in your User ID.
You may change your
password AFTER you have once logged in with the one assigned
you. But be sure to write down the new one and save it. If
you forget it and have to be assigned a new one, all work
done to that point will be lost.

Click
here to set up your WebCT
log-in page. You will see the places to enter your
User ID and Password. Once you see a page that says MY
WEBCT [your name] at the top, the next thing to do is use
the link there for changing your Password---do not attempt
to change your User ID in any way. PLEASE write down your
new Password for safekeeping. Return to the MY WEBCT page
or log-in page, and use the Bookmarks or Favorites function
of your browser to save the page for easy access.
On the MY WEBCT [your name] page, you will see a link
to this course. Click on it and you will enter your
Developmental class on the
Internet. Read the welcome on the Homepage and start
exploring WebCT. Look at the Assignments Tools and
Communications Tools, and find your first assignments in the
Syllabus. Begin immediately and enjoy!

How to set up your browser
Once you have been given an account for logging into WebCT,
use Internet Explorer or Netscape as your browser to log onto the
internet.
Important: If you use
AOL to access the internet, use it to log on;
then minimize the AOL screen,
and use either Internet Explorer or Netscape
to access WebCT, which is not
fully compatible with AOL.
To function properly, WebCT requires certain
settings in your browser. You will find clear instructions for how
to set up your browser by looking at WebCT
