Students will need to:
Obtain permission from the high school counselor and/or principal (or home school administrator) as well as the parent or legal guardian.
Take a placement test or have qualifying test scores to be eligible for the program – check out the “Testing” link.
Steps to Enroll
Steps to Enroll - Easy as 1 . . .2 . . .3!
Discuss Dual Credit with the student and the parents to make sure that enrolling in a dual credit course is right for the student.
Now it is time to apply to TVCC. This can be done online (recommended) or by manually completing the TVCC application. Students will also need to have their high school transcript sent to TVCC and take any required placement tests prior to enrollment or submit acceptable exemption test scores. They must also provide proof of Bacterial Meningitis vaccination that is not more than five years old if taking internet or classes on one of the TVCC campuses. All of this paperwork must be completed before they can register for class.
Once steps 1 and 2 have been completed, they are ready to register for Dual Credit courses. A Dual Credit form (TVCC Dual Credit/Concurrent Application) will need to be completed with student, counselor, and parent signatures. Registration dates are set specifically for Dual Credit students each semester. The Dual Credit office will notify you of those dates each semester.
Utilize the Student Checklist for new students to ensure you have completed all the appropriate documentation.

TVCC Dual Credit/Concurrent Application. Students will need to obtain permission from you and/or the principal (or home school administrator) as well as a parent or legal guardian. Complete the Dual Credit form, with all signatures. If a student has missed a semester and is returning, additional documentation will be required. See the returning student checklist below.
Registration – Specific early registration dates are scheduled for Dual Credit students to register prior to each semester. The Dual Credit office will notify you of those dates each semester. Should you miss the Early Dual Credit registration date, students will have an opportunity to register during regular college registration. However, we cannot guarantee that space will be available at that time.
Payment - Payment for Dual Credit classes is the student's responsibility. Some districts pay for Dual Credit courses. For those districts, a list of students, identification numbers, and a list of courses to be paid for will need to be submitted PRIOR to registration.
Utilize the Student Checklist for returning students to ensure you have completed all the appropriate documentation.
