Interest Application
Course Information
Provides study of basic organ
playing skills necessary to play hymns and pipe organ
repertoire. The ability to sight-read a four-part hymn at the
keyboard is desired. No previous organ study is required.
Learning Outcomes
1. Apply basic principles of organ
registration
2. Demonstrate fluency in manual and pedal techniques
3. Perform pedal parts in combination with manual parts.
4. Perform hymns appropriate for a worship service with
satisfactory phrasing and introductions
5. Perform classical organ literature that is appropriate to
student's level

Practice Location
Lessons are given at the First Baptist Church of Athens, 105 S.
Carroll St. Students will be taught by traditional organ methods
on a three manual, 42-rank Wicks pipe organ. Practice time must
be scheduled and approved by the instructor and FBC.
