This=20 course presents a study of accepted principles of present day psychology = that=20

will be of=20 practical value in business, personal efficiency, human relations and = morale,=20 personality and emotional health, personal leadership and teamwork=20 exercises.

 

Course=20 Learning Outcomes:

         =20 The student will acquire an understanding of the following course = learning outcomes:

eCourse Log-In Procedure:

 

           =20 To log in to Trinity Valley Community College=92s = internet=20 courses go to https://ecourses.tvcc.edu/ or = click=20 e-Courses on the TVCC homepage.

You = must create a=20 new password Every semester, even if you = created a=20 password in a prior semester

The log in and password information has changed. The = new log in=20 and password will now be the same. (Example log in: doej1234,  Password: Doej1234), except the first letter = will be=20 capitalized on the password. Log = in=20 using your last name, first initial and = last 4=20 digits of your Social Security Number. If you are a VCT student, use the = last=20 four digits of your college-issued ID. Upon initial login, = you will=20 have to create an 8-digit password that conforms to the strong password = security=20 requirements. If you don=92t, you will get these error messages until = you=20 comply.

1.      =20 Please enter a password with at least 8 = characters.

2.      =20 Your password does not meet the strong password=20 requirement. It must include 3 of the following types of characters: = Uppercase=20 letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. For example: Pa55w*rd. =

HOW TO SETUP E-MAIL RETRIEVAL OF = FORGOTTEN=20 PASSWORDS

Once logged in, on your homepage where your courses = are listed,=20 click on My Settings (upper right hand corner), this will open = your My=20 Profile page. Click on Edit Profile and enter your email = address,=20 click SAVE. This will take you back to your My Profile = page. Click=20 on Change Password, the Change Password page opens. Enter = your=20 current password and then create a new 8 digit secure password (see = above),=20 enter your new password again. Next, you will need to create a secret = question,=20 such as: What is my pet=92s name? or=20 What city was I born in?  Enter the correct answer to your = secret=20 question.  When you are through, click on SAVE. Now, if you = forget=20 your password, you can retrieve it through your e-mail account.

    =20       If your course is = taught by=20 BB/WEBCT, do not attempt to log in until first day of classes for your=20 appropriate semester. If you register late, it will take a few days for = you to=20 be able to log in.

Once you log in, select the syllabus icon and = print the=20 course syllabus.

           =20 Next, select the Unit Assignments icon and print them for Units 1 = =96=20 3.

           =20 Click on the other icons on the homepage and read the data and=20 instructions given.

           =20 Then, begin = reading the=20 chapters and working the = assignments.

 

Course Format:

This course is divided into three=20 units:

Unit 1: Chapters 1 - 3

Unit 2: Chapters 4 =96 = 7

Unit 3: Chapters  8 - = 11

Final=20 Project

Testing/Final Grade:

 

The=20 course will include three objective assessments, and a = final=20 project and three unit assignments (containing two = assignments in=20 each unit).  If you do not = have a=20 reliable computer for taking your assessments, then use one of the = locations=20 below. VCT students will use the campus where they=20 registered.

The=20 Testing Center in Athens is an open testing center and will=20 provide:

The=20 Learning Resource Centers in Athens,=20 Palestine, and=20 Terrell will provide online testing only.

 

All=20 testing sites will provide secure, proctored = testing.

 

Prohibited items include books, notes, = educational aides=20 (such as dictionaries, thesauri, reference books, etc), cell phones, = pagers,=20 electronic organizers / PDA=92s, laptops, or similar=20 devices.

 

Course Grading Method:

 

The=20 final grade for each student will be determined using the point=20 system.

 

Each=20 major unit assessment and final project will be worth 200 points for a = total of=20 800 points. Assignments will consist of 6 exercises (worth 40 points = each) and=20 will total 240 points.  = Total=20 possible points will be 1040. Final grade will be determined using the = following=20 scale:

 

A =3D     931 =96 = 1040

B =3D  =20   827 =96 =   930

C =3D  =20   723 =96   = 826

D =3D  =20   619 =96   722

F =3D     below 619

Drop Date Policy:

 

If=20 the student needs to drop a course or withdraw from the college, you = must=20 complete an official drop form from the Guidance Office to withdraw from = this=20 course or contact the VCT coordinator at your college. The TVCC = semester=20 class drop date is November 20, 2009.
