Course goals:	This course is designed to introduce the student to the study, theories, and typologies of crime and the administration of justice in America.

Course Requirements
Requirements:	All major test grades and the major test grade derived from the average of all homework assignments will be used to calculate your final grade. For exam= ple: if you scored 90,95,90, and 100 on your tests including the homework (average), your total test score of 375 divided by 4 tests =3D 94 (A). The "final" is NOT comprehensive. Do all assigned reading and related homework. Complete homework and tests at assigned times. Students are expected to demonstrate a mature attitude to= ward the subject matter and participate enthusiastically in the course. Studen= ts should have basic computer and word processing skills prior to taking the course. <= /p>

Introduction:	Welcome to Introduction to Crimin= al Justice, CRIJ 1301. The course is on the Trinity Val= ley Community College homepage at www.tvcc.edu, select Distan= ce Ed. Students, general Information. Select How to Login to your Ecourse and follow the instructions. I strongly rec= ommend that you write down any change in your ID and password. You will need to purchase a text for the course. Students can log on to the distance educa= tion course website on the first class day of class. Once students have logged= in to course, they can click on the course homepage and course icons for add= itional course information. You must establish communications within the WebCT class in the first week of t= he semester. Participation in the class is essential to learning. Failure to establish communications or submit assignments and tests when due may result in the student being dropped from the class. The Courts and Criminal Procedure class is on the TVCC server at = www.tvcc.edu, click on ecourses. All correspondence, assignments, and information must be in your class on the Blackboard sever.
