Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Trinity Valley Community College was very successful while recently participating in the 2010 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The TVCC Beef Cattle Show Team was involved in the Open Charolais Cattle division of the show on March 7, 2010. Our students performed extremely well. The students worked very hard for three days to win the good herdsman award. This was the 10th year in a row our show team has won this prestigious award. The competitors have to keep their area perfectly clean at all times and their cattle perfectly groomed as well as have a nice looking display and demonstrate courtesy to all who come by. The show team spent a long week in Houston, but came away winners in every aspect of the word. They team decided they wanted to win the Good Herdsman Award for the 10th year in a row and they did. They prepared and showed the cattle very well against top competition and won two reserve division championships with two older heifers and a 1st in class with a young heifer. 2010 FORT WORTH STOCK SHOW
Trinity Valley Community College participated in the 2010 Fort Worth Stock Show. The TVCC Beef Cattle Show Team was involved in the Open Charolais Cattle division of the show on January 30th. Awards received this year include:

We were only able to show 5 head of cattle at Fort Worth therefore I don’t want to leave out mentioning the other two show team members who worked very hard as well. Our Captain, Joe Eatmon, from Fairfield, Texas and Sadie Thomas from Royce City, Texas. The Beef Cattle Show Team represented TVCC very well at the Fort Worth Stock Show. The competition was very stiff, but we were able to come away with a reserve division championship and many compliments on how well our students represented our college.

We have a great group of young men and women representing TVCC on the Beef Cattle Show Team this year. They had great success at the Four States Fair. The show team also had a great time Sunday evening as we were entertained at Jimmy and Cherrie Curtis’s Paradise Acres Ranch just outside of Texarkana. The Curtis’s are parents of one of our former show team members. They invited the team and were wonderful hosts.
