Grants can help finance your education

TVCC students have access to numerous funding sources to help achieve their educational goals.  Some of the grants available to Continuing Education students are:

TANF Literacy Grant -Through a grant provided by the East Texas Workforce Board - eligible students may qualify for career skills workshops, tutoring or financial assistance for job skills training. To be eligible for this program, a student must receive some form of government assistance (Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF, etc) and reside in Anderson, Henderson, Rains or Van Zandt counties.

Career Skills workshops will assist you with resume preparation, interview tips and setting career goals. Tutoring services may also be available for students who need a little extra help with their coursework. Students who successfully complete the requirements for this grant may also qualify for tuition assistance in a workforce training class.

For more information about this program, please contact our office at 903-675-6275 or email

PELL Grant - Free Application for Federal Student Aid - Your first step in requesting any type of financial aid is to complete the FAFSA.  If you have questions about completing the FAFSA application, click here.

TPEG Grant - Pell funding does not cover Continuing Education classes.  However, students who are PELL grant eligible or are receiving some type of government assistance may be eligible for grants that would cover 85% of the tuition cost for a workforce related class.
