ABOUT the CARDETTES

CARDETTE STYLE: The TVCC Cardettes is a precision dance/drill team.  In the fall, Cardettes perform at all home Cardinals football games and area away games.  The Cardette style during the fall semester primarily consists of jazz, high kick, military, pom, and prop routines.  However in the spring semester Cardettes switch to more of an all around dance style. 

Cardettes host an annual Spring Production, which consists of styles including jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre, lyrical, modern and precision dance.  The Cardettes also have a smaller team among the ranks, which is known as the Pom Squad.  They primarily perform at Basketball games and area functions.  The Pom Squad style is of a hip-hop/ jazz style.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships are available for each TVCC Cardettes as long as she maintains a 2.0 GPA with 12 credit hours.  Scholarship amounts vary depending on Freshman, Sophomore, Escorts, Manager and Officers. Being a Cardette is a smart choice to a successful future.  USE THE DANCE TALENTS THAT YOU HAVE TO ASSIST YOU IN YOUR COLLEGE EDUCATION!

COLLEGE CREDITS: Each Cardette receives two college credits each semester, which will replace any Physical Education requirements.  These credits are transferable to other colleges and universities.

COLLEGE ADMISSION: TVCC has an “open door” admissions policy, which ensures each student the opportunity to enroll.  Graduation from high school or a GED and official THEA test results, or the results from the institutional placement test are required for enrollment.  Please see the TVCC Home Page for further information.

INITIATION POLICY: The TVCC Cardettes do not believe in, or participate in, hazing, initiating, or intimidating its new members.  Cardettes strongly believe that you only have two wonderful years as a Cardette, so live it to the fullest and make the friendships that will last a lifetime!
