Cardettes celebrate 50 years in 2010!

Dear Cardette Alumni,

If you are not aware the Cardettes will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary in the FALL 2010.  Our celebration is scheduled for the Homecoming game which will probably be around the end of October.  As soon as the date is set you will be notified.  We do not want you to miss out on a wonderful celebration!

In preparation for this celebration we need  YOUR HELP!!  50 years is a lot to cover so if f you would be interested in helping out with any of the following please e-mail the office at dmansfield@tvcc.edu and let us know.  The projects will be divided up so you need not to worry about volunteering with too much to handle. The sooner we can get started the better. 

WOW.....50 years of Cardette sisters!

Here is what we need help on:

• Collecting current address of your Cardette class(es).  You will also like for you to be in charge of updating and encouraging your class to attend.

• Cardette Reception on the anniversary day.

• "Memory Mixer" on the Friday evening prior to the homecoming game. 

• Cardette 50th Anniversary Scrapbook.

• Possible 50th anniversary Halftime performance.

If you have any wonderful ideas, and we know that they are out there, please let us know.  Please check back for updates on the alumni site.  It will be changing!!

BE A CARDETTE CONNECTION....

Thanks to the continued support of a few Cardettes we now have a way for you to still be connected to the Cardettes without all of the sore muscles, sweat and red lipstick.  CARDETTE CONNECTION is a program where you adopt a Cardette for the semester or the entire year, which ever you choose.  This is not a support of your wallet (even though it would be nice) but to be an ear, shoulder, and voice to let them know that you are there for them.  You know how excited the girls can get when a card is actually in their campus mail box!! 

In April 2009, Assistant Director Markesha Luckett and former Cardette Lieutenant Chelsi Norris hosted the first CARDETTE CONNECTION  Reception prior to the spring production.  It was a fun meet-and-greet which we hope to continue and add to.  We plan to have one event each semester with all the Cardettes and their Connections. 

The current Cardettes need your love and support.  If you are interested in becoming a CARDETTE CONNECTION  just e-mail us at mluckett@tvcc.edu and let us know.  We make the first connection in September so let us know if you want to join!!!!
