ROTATION CLINICAL OBJECTIVES
The
student will prepare a typed written formal paper that addresses each clinical
objective listed for the specific clinical site (include reference list if
applicable). Student must complete one
weekly evaluation from for each clinical site. Written work and clinical
evaluation form due the Monday after clinical rotation before 0800 in the box
in front of sophomore team leaders door.
1. Discuss the three types of
vascular access devices for hemodialysis.
2. Discuss the client’s
experience from the time they enter the dialysis unit until the time they leave
the unit (the assessment, procedure, monitoring, and teaching). Identify and discuss any complications
observed in clinical.

diagnosis are seen with clients that are referred to the cardiac/pulmonary
rehab unit and discuss the cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation program, including
admission, discharge, and reimbursement criteria.

treatments of wounds of clients commonly seen in the Wound
Care Clinic and describe the client’s experience
from the time they enter the wound care clinic until the time they leave the
unit (assessment, procedure, monitoring, and teaching).

admission into a rehabilitation or skilled nursing
unit and the process of preparing for
client for discharge home.
2. Describe all the rehab care
team members and their responsibilities for client care;
explain how care is coordinated between the
disciplines.
3. Identify all client education material
available at this clinical site for discharge teaching.

must include an evaluation of your client utilizing the Functional Index
Measure (FIMS).

you do not teach – you must document the rationale
why you were not allowed or did not choose to
provide direct nursing care.
