Step 2: Upload Video
Each instructor will have their own folder on our media
server. To get yours, just email
helpdesk@tvcc.edu
and request it. Once you have access to your
folder, it will be in the format of
\\wowza\CardinalID.
You'll be able to simply open this folder on your
computer and paste your video file into it. Step 3:
Build Your Player
First, you’ll need to edit the
Quicktime-Player.html. Here
is the entire file in code:
Just copy the above code and paste it into Notepad. On
the 15th line down, change CardinalID to your CardinalID (the part of
your email before the @). Then change your-video-file.mp4 to your video’s filename.
On the 19th line down, repeat the process.
Then save
the Notepad file to the filename your-video-file.html where your-video-file is
the name of your video (with no spaces in the filename). This new .html
file is the player for this specific video.
Once you have the
player file saved, follow these
instructions to get them on your Blackboard page:
- Log onto Blackboard and click on the courses tab..
- Click on Content in the left navigation.
- In the main section of the Screen, click or just hover
over Build Content and choose > Item.
- Name your Item and scroll down to Attachments.
- Click Browse My Computer and navigate to
your-video-file.html
Choose viewing and tracking options and click Submit..
- You may be asked for your-video-file.mp4.
Since your video file is located on our video
streaming server, you may leave this file blank and
click Submit.
Your video will now display in the Content portion of
your Blackboard pages.
iPhone / iPad / iPod
To create compatibility for iPads, iPhones, and iPods,
simply create a hyperlink directed at iPad users.
Use the link below, but change CardinalID to your
CardinalID and your-file-name.mov to your
video's file name.
