Our Partnership:

Trinity Valley Community College and Sam Houston State University anticipate completing over 30 online agreements providing in excess of 40 baccalaureate degrees at Sam Houston State University. This will be designed to maximize the amount of course work completed for the associate degree that can be applied to the baccalaureate degree.

“Reverse Transfer” will allow students to transfer course work from Sam Houston State University to Trinity Valley Community College to complete some requirements for the associate degree. In the professional job market, there is a clear distinction between having attended Trinity Valley Community College and having graduated from Trinity Valley Community College.

“Joint Admission” provides students a way to maximize use of facilities and programs offered jointly by Trinity Valley Community College and Sam Houston State University while making the transition from the associate to the baccalaureate degree. Benefits of joint admission include:

1) the ability to attend both schools simultaneously

2) an SHSU picture ID/bank card

3) student access to SHSU sporting events

4) a Sam Houston State University email account accessible from any Internet connection world wide

5) sufficient disk space on a Sam Houston State University Internet Server to create and maintain a home page and store important files from one semester to the next (remains in effect over the summer into the fall semester unless you fail to reregister at least one of the institutions)

6) access to the Sam Houston State University library and to computer facilitates operated by Sam Houston State University Computer Services

Please see the university catalog to determine which courses will transfer. If you have questions, please contact your guidance counselor.

Reverse Transfer

Students who leave TVCC before completing their degree may transfer hours earned at the university back in order to earn their Associates Degree.
