8) CASE STUDY:  Lynette's Teacher has Recently Become Concerned About Her Ability to See. He has Noticed that when Stories are Read to the Children, Lynette Often Loses Interest, Frequently Leaves her Place in the Circle, and Moves Closer to Him in Order to see the Pictures He Holds.
    The Teacher has also Observed that Lynette looks very Closely at Puzzles and Pictures she is Coloring. Lynette's Parents have Expressed some Concern about her Clumsiness at Home. An Initial Vision Screening Test, Administered by the School Nurse Reveals that Lynette's Vision is not within Normal Limits. She was Referred to an Eye Specialist for Further Evaluations.

13) CASE STUDY: A Friend Encourages Mrs. Howard to Take Her Son to the Developmental Screening Being Held at the Community Center. Parker was nearly Two Years Old and Spoke Only a Few Words that were Understandable. He Usually Stayed with his Grandmother During the Day while his Mother Worked, so he didn't have many Opportunities to Play with Children his Age.

    The Developmental Screening Team checked his Height, Weight, Vision, Hearing, Speech, Cognitive Abilities and Motor Skills. The Team Leader Noted that Mrs. Howard Indicated on the History Intake Form that Parker Had Several Food Allergies and Frequent Upper Respiratory and Ear Infections. His Hearing Tests Revealed a Significant Loss in one Ear and a Moderate Loss in the Other.

    Is Parkers' Speech Development Appropriate for his Age? Explain your Answer. Discuss why or why not.
