VIRTUAL COLLEGE OF TEXAS

FACT SHEET and REGISTRATION PROCESS

The Virtual College of Texas (VCT) is a consortium of Texas community colleges that offer courses to students who are unable to find needed courses at their home college. VCT operates on a Host-Provider model. The Host is your local community college (TVCC). The Provider is the community college providing the instruction. If you are attending TVCC and the course you need for your degree or graduation is not offered by TVCC  or is not offered online, you may reserve space in that class at another VCT college (Provider).

Go to http://TrinityValleyCommunityCollege.vct.org/credit. Search for your needed class. Find it and contact TVCC’s Distance Learning Office, 903-675-6324 for further assistance. Note, if the class is not on TVCC’s “Local Course Schedule”, call the Distance Learning Office to see if it is possible for it to be added to the “Local Course Schedule”. If it is not on the Local Course Schedule or cannot be added to the schedule you will not be allowed to register for that course. Once registered for this class, your course will appear on your TVCC transcript.

VCT Reservation Process

Once a class is approved for registration, the student’s information is inputted into the VCT database and an

e-mail is generated to the student:

The following is an example to show how the e-mail will look like after the reservation process has been completed.
