Head Coach Bill Damuth

Bill Damuth just finished his third season in his second tenure as Lady Cardinal assistant coach. He also served as assistant coach from 1994-2000 and was on the bench for three of the school’s five national championships and five of seven national championship games in which the college has played.

He left TVCC at the end of the 1999-2000 season to become the head women’s basketball coach at Hill College in Hillsboro, TX. At Hill, Damuth compiled a 51-12 record in two seasons, including a 29-3 record and conference championship in his first season. Hill was ranked as high as 13th nationally that year and Damuth was named North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He produced six all-conference players, two all-region players and one All-American at Hill.

Damuth left Hill to become an assistant coach at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, where he stayed until returning to TVCC in May of 2006. At Louisiana-Lafayette, he helped revive a struggling program. Louisana-Lafayette finished second in his second season and won the conference the next. The recruiting class he left behind upon returning to TVCC made the college’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

His responsibilities at TVCC included coordinating recruiting, coaching the post position and being involved in planning the defensive scheme.

He is a native of Martins Mill and received his bachelor’s of science and history degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1995. He earned his master’s degree in sports science and management from the United States Sports Academy in 1998.

Damuth and wife Michelle have a son and daughter – Dylan and Madison.
