Former
SMU defensive back and Duncanville High School standout Mark
Gibson joins the Trinity Valley Football family for the first
time in 2008. Mark comes to Athens with several years of
experience in the profession of coaching at the college, junior
college and high school levels. He spent time with former
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson on his staffs at both
Oklahoma State University and the University of Miami, as well as coaching stints at New Mexico State, UNLV, and the University of Pacific.
At the University of Miami Gibson was on the staff that played
for the National Championship in the 1986 Sugar Bowl.
Coach
Gibson left the college ranks for a head coaching opportunity at
Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas, before leaving the profession for
private business. Mark returned to coaching in 2006, where
he coached secondary and special teams at national high school
power Evangel
Christian Academy in Shreveport, LA. During the 2006
season he helped the Eagles
win the 2006 Louisiana High School State Championship.
Mark
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Physical Education,
and is on track to complete his Master's from Oklahoma State
University. |
